F.A.S.T. Facts

What are the results of the F.A.S.T. Reading program?

Students achieve an average of two years of grade level growth in 18 hours of tutoring or one semester in the classroom. Visit the F.A.S.T. Learning research page to view recent research summaries.

Why does the F.A.S.T. Reading program achieve results so quickly?

The program is successful because of its intensity, because of the way phonetic generalizations are combined and taught, and because the reading materials are interesting and reinforce phonetic concepts.

What kinds of students does the F.A.S.T. Language program help?

Students who have minor to severe difficulty with the mechanics of reading (remembering sounds, blending and separating sounds, sounding out words) can be helped by the F.A.S.T. Reading program.

Students who do not have significant problems with the mechanics of reading, but who read slowly, have trouble spelling, and struggle with multi-syllable words, can be helped by an abbreviated approach to the F.A.S.T. reading program that targets their problem areas.
